Where science meets nail artistry
Siranush Ambartsumian’s understanding of nails was shaped by three disciplines that have followed her throughout her life: science, art and precision. Born in Armenia and raised in Russia, she graduated from high school with a Gold Medal and later completed university with honors.
Her degree was in forensic examination, with academic training in physics, chemistry and the examination of substances, materials and the products made from them. She then spent approximately five years working as a forensic handwriting expert, a profession that demanded exceptional concentration and attention to the smallest details.
That analytical training eventually became part of her signature as a nail artist. It influenced both the intricate designs for which she became known and her need to understand what is happening beneath the visible result.
Alongside science, Siranush graduated from art school and received a musical education in piano. She continues to play regularly, using music to reset, find new ideas and move between analytical thinking and creative work.
Building a career in the United States
Her interest in nails began as a teenager. She was never drawn to the beauty industry as a whole; nails were the specific craft that fascinated her. She did her own nails and experimented with designs for years before deciding, after moving to the United States, to make that passion her profession.
What began as a long-held personal interest developed into a professional practice built around precision, difficult details and original design. As her work became more recognizable, her role expanded from serving clients to explaining techniques, helping other nail technicians solve problems and developing a clearer educational method.
Siranush became one of the early practitioners and educators to help establish Russian Manicure in South Florida and among a growing professional audience across the United States. Her approach connected meticulous preparation with architecture, material behavior and an elevated standard for the complete service.
Over time, she grew from nail artist to educator, trend creator and specialist in Russian Manicure and pedicure. Her techniques and designs now reach millions of viewers on Instagram and TikTok and are recreated by nail technicians around the world.
Her audience grew around work that combined technical control with a distinct visual identity. Some designs became so recognizable that manufacturers created molds based on her original concepts. For Siranush, that reach is meaningful not simply as visibility, but as evidence that a technique developed at the nail table can influence how other professionals create, teach and think about their work.
From the studio to the national stage
Siranush has taught on stage at Premiere Orlando and contributed to professional beauty conferences, sharing her techniques and educational approach with a wider industry audience.
She has also traveled to studios across the United States to lead group training and help working nail technicians advance their professional skills. These in-person sessions allow her to respond to the realities of different salons, working methods and levels of experience.
The science behind professional results
Visibility has never been the central purpose of Siranush’s work. What interests her most is understanding why a result works: why one material adheres better than another, what causes lifting, how polymerization changes a product, why wear varies between clients and how nail architecture affects durability.
Her scientific background helps her connect everyday technical problems with the chemistry and physics behind them. In product evaluation, chemistry provides a framework for examining formulation, safety, quality and performance. Physics helps her anticipate how a material and a finished structure will behave under real-world forces.
The philosophy behind Nailspiracy
This way of thinking became one of the foundations of Nailspiracy. The brand connects material knowledge with years of practical experience behind the nail table. Its professional nail products are considered not only for appearance or ease of application, but also for how their formulation, safety, performance and behavior fit the way nail professionals actually work.
Product development begins with practical questions. A material must make sense in the technician’s workflow, respond predictably during application and support a durable finished service. That requires looking at the complete system, including preparation, adhesion, viscosity, curing, structure and removal, rather than evaluating a product as an isolated object.
Nail Art Department Studio in Hallandale Beach became the first salon in South Florida dedicated to Russian Manicure. It is the service and nail art side of the Nailspiracy ecosystem, keeping Siranush and her team close to real clients, real wear and the practical demands that inform product development and education.
Teaching logic, not only technique
The same knowledge shapes Siranush’s teaching. When she explains polymerization, adhesion, product behavior, wear or nail architecture, she wants students to understand the logic of the process instead of simply memorizing a rule.
Nail architecture, for example, is not only about visual balance. It requires an understanding of how forces act on a nail and how a structure can be built to withstand everyday wear. Education should give technicians a foundation they can use to diagnose a problem, adapt their technique and understand what to do when a standard procedure does not produce the expected result.
That philosophy led Siranush to create Russian Manicure 360°, a comprehensive online course connecting natural nail preparation, product application, structure, durability, finishing techniques and isolated chrome. The self-paced online program is part of the broader education available through Nailspiracy Academy, alongside her in-person classes and group training.
Whether she is teaching online, speaking from a professional stage or working with a group inside a salon, her goal is consistent: help technicians replace guesswork with understanding. A student should leave with more than a sequence of steps. They should be able to recognize the variables in front of them, make informed decisions and continue improving after the class has ended.
Creativity, discipline and community
Siranush’s professional work is supported by disciplines outside the studio. Piano remains an active creative practice, while strength training, nutrition and regular physical activity reinforce consistency, resilience and long-term thinking. She approaches business in the same way: meaningful results come from returning to the work and improving it over time.
Her art school background is visible in the way she approaches proportion, color, negative space and surface detail. Music offers another form of creative structure, balancing control with interpretation. Together, these influences help explain why her work can move between disciplined technical education and highly expressive nail art without treating them as separate worlds.
Her creativity also extends beyond the nail table. Siranush enjoys makeup, fashion and transforming an idea through styled photography. Each visual character gives her another way to explore color, mood and self-expression. The same trained eye that shapes a detailed manicure also guides how she builds a complete image in front of the camera.
Art beyond the nail table
She also believes the beauty industry is built by people. Sharing knowledge, participating in professional events and supporting other technicians can make both education and high-quality beauty services more accessible. For Siranush, progress is strongest when individual expertise contributes to a more informed professional community.
Nailspiracy is the expression of that combination: scientific curiosity, practical nail experience, creative freedom and education designed for professionals who want to understand their craft more deeply.
