There is no universal bead size
Product amount changes with nail width, attachment area, extension length, form depth and the viscosity of the exact builder gel. A fixed bead for every finger produces inconsistent architecture.
Use the smallest controlled amount that can create complete contact, sidewalls and the intended stress-area volume.
Distribute volume intentionally
The cuticle area needs a thin transition, the stress area needs planned support and the free edge needs enough material for the selected shape without becoming heavy.
View the filled form from the side before placement. Add small amounts where structure is missing rather than overloading the entire cavity.

There is no universal bead size for every Dual Form
The correct amount is the smallest quantity that can create complete attachment, planned architecture and a finished free edge without large uncontrolled overflow. It changes with natural-nail width, selected form, extension length, shape, internal form curve, product viscosity and the amount of structure already present.
A fixed pea-size or brush-size rule cannot account for these variables. Use a repeatable visual map inside the form and calibrate it with the same product system. When the form or gel changes, repeat the calibration instead of assuming the previous amount will behave identically.

Distribute product by zone, not as one uniform layer
Visualize the attachment area, transition, stress area, apex and free edge. The attachment needs complete controlled contact without flooding. The stress area and apex require the structure appropriate to length and shape. The free edge should be complete but not a heavy block.
Place material where the architecture needs it before seating the form. If most gel begins at the free edge, pressure can force it backward into the skin. If all material begins near the attachment, the extension may finish thin or require extensive correction. Guide the gel inside the form while preserving a clean perimeter.

Recognize too much and too little before curing

Do not cure gel that has contacted skin. Remove the uncured product using the system's safe procedure, clean the area and correct the amount or placement. Adding filing time later is not a substitute for clean pre-cure control.
Calibrate the amount with a five-form exercise
- Select five identical forms and the same product, lamp and planned length.
- Mark the intended attachment, apex and free-edge zones.
- Begin with a conservative measured brush load.
- Record overflow, gaps, underside thickness and filing time.
- Adjust only the amount or distribution on the next form.
Photograph each uncured setup and finished cross-section. The goal is not to discover a universal number, but to create a reference for that form and gel combination. Repeat the exercise for a substantially different width, length or viscosity.

Quantity also affects curing and exposure control
Excessively thick gel may not cure as intended, while a thin incomplete structure can fail mechanically. Use the layer thickness, compatible lamp and curing schedule specified by the manufacturer. Wattage alone does not establish that an improvised thickness is cured.
Keep uncured gel away from skin. FDA and European SCCS materials discuss sensitization concerns associated with methacrylate ingredients and emphasize avoiding adjacent-skin contact. Product amount should therefore be controlled before seating, not cleaned only after widespread overflow.

Record quantity without pretending it is universal
For team consistency, photograph the loaded brush or measured portion beside the labelled form before placement. Record product, temperature, nail width, form size and finished length. This creates a practical internal reference while making clear that the same visual amount must still be adjusted for another client or product.
At maintenance, compare the original record with bulk, breakage, lifting and filing time. Use that evidence to refine the zone map for the next service.
